I certainly believe some things that dont kill us kills us slowly, especially in the instance of the novel 'A Long Way Gone'. In their situation, they are just waiting for death. To these boys, no matyer how long they keep running, death seems inevitable, and they wake up every morning with the thought that this day might be their last.
